Plastic Pipe Testing Equipment
Falling Weight Impact Tester
This test is designed to assess the ability of circular cross-section thermoplastic pipes to resist blows from external sources. Test specimens are subjected to an impact from a striker of specified mass and shape, which is dropped from a known height onto designated positions around the pipe's circumference. This process estimates the true impact rate (TIR) for a batch or production run from an ext-ruder.
The acceptable maximum TIR is considered to be 10%.
There are two methods employed in this test: the round-the-clock method and the staircase method.
